Every Ferodo Premier brake pad comes with all the necessary accessories for installation, and we also supply OEM-specification wear indicators which have been rigorously tested under extreme running conditions. Where many suppliers compromise on performance by using only a limited number of friction materials to fit all vehicles, Federal-Mogul does not. We manufacture eight types of friction materials for commercial vehicles, each one designed exclusively to suit its individual application. Our testing procedures are exhaustive and products are tested in extensive dynamometer and road trials to guarantee brake products that will meet the most demanding performance requirements.

In keeping with Ferodo’s focus on safety, we offer three different brake lining wear indicators: the wear notch, the wear step and the wear groove – allowing for an easy check to determine if linings need replacement.

Modern CV air brake systems generate enormous frictional forces and stresses during operation – far in excess of those present in hydraulic systems. Under these extreme conditions worn or poorly designed discs do not dissipate heat efficiently, causing them to warp and crack. This can also lead to overheating of the brake pads and potentially the brake caliper seals - seriously compromising vehicle safety.

Ferodo discs are designed to meet OEM specifications and undergo stringent metallurgical tests. They are in combination with Ferodo OEM materials to ensure they perform to the highest standards and offer the best resistance to wear, even under extreme conditions. Our discs are made to have extremely high tolerances for disc thickness variation (DTV), run-out, parallelism and wheel-stud location, factors which optimise brake performance, reduce wear and minimise judder and noise.

The Ferodo range features Pillar Venting Technology (or Offset Pillar), allowing a better and more uniform thermal dispersion.
